Shooting Targets

OTF produces the highest quality steel targets from Certified AR500 steel. We only use the best American made steel to produce our targets and stands. Don’t waste your money on AR400 that won’t hold up to magnum rounds or rifle rounds. Get a target that is going to last. A lot of companies use AR400 or weaker Chinese made steel. We use only high quality, American made, AR500 steel for our targets. The AR500 steel is cut on a High Definition CNC plasma table, on a water-bath, and with a state of the art Hypertherm Plasma. Don’t be fooled by your “gun show” targets that are cut by hand plasma. If cut fast enough enough, and on water, the HAZ (Heat Affected Zone) is significantly reduced.  If well taken care of, one of our targets will last you years of shooting.

We offer a variety of targets, but our staple is the anatomically correct 1/2″ thick silhouette. The silhouette has no visible bolts or chains to get damaged. No visible holes that create weak points. 100% of the target surface area is shootable. The Silhouette target is hung at a downward angle on a hinge to significantly decrease the chance of ricochet and help absorb impact energy. This angle also decreases bullet splatter towards the shooter, making it much safer than other straight targets. The silhouettes are sold individually, but we recommend you pair them with our specially designed stand. Our stands are easily broken down to lay flat without the need of tools and incorporate a guard to deflect any rounds that would normally cause damage to the stand.

  • Only certified American made AR500 plate
  • Target hangs on a downward angle
  • NO bolts or chains to get damaged
  • NO holes to create weak points
  • We can make custom shapes and sizes
  • With our competitive pricing structure, no order is too small.

Our targets are equally suited for day trips to the range and for advanced firearms training.

3/8” AR500 targets are rated for magnum handgun and rifle rounds up to 308. Great for smaller, faster rounds like 223/5.56, 5.45×39, 7.62×39 and similar. These targets will handle rugged everyday use at ranges no closer than

  • 20 yards by handgun
  • 200 yards by smaller caliber rifle ie. .223/5.56, 5.45×39, 300 AAC, and 7.62×39

1/2” AR500 targets are rated for rugged daily use with magnum handgun and rifle rounds up to 338 magnum. Targets are rated to be shot no closer than:

  • 15 yards by handgun
  • 50 yards by rimfire 22LR, 22 mag and 17 HMR
  • 100 yards by smaller caliber rifle ie. .223/5.56, 5.45×39, 300 AAC, and 7.62×39
  • 200 yards by bolt action or high speed calibers ie. 30-06, 308, .270, and .22-250
  • 300 yards by High Velocity Large Caliber ie. 300 Win Mag, 7mm Mag, 300 WSM
  • 300+ yards by 338 and 50 BMG depending on load

Caution: Bullet fragments/splatter may come back towards the shooter and bystanders.  All persons in the area must wear eye and ear protection.  Bullet fragments can injure shooters and spectators, and can cause damage to objects nearby.

Good Judgement must be used when determining shooting distance. ie an AR “pistol” shooting .223/5.56 does not constitute a handgun and should not be shot at handgun distances.

Use steel targets at your own risk. Safe minimum distance will vary. No target face deformation should occur during normal use. Dimples on target face can cause unsafe fragmentation and possible ricochet. If target face is dimpling, you must move the target further away to a safe distance. Shooting at steel targets can be dangerous and caution must be taken to ensure safety. Always follow safe Firearms Practices and use a proper backstop when shooting.
